Collections

The conservation department specializes in the preparation of objects for museum exhibitions, and also takes care of those collection items which have been moved to new depositories.

In 2011, the museum conservation team professionally treated and conserved 1,447 collection items from historical collections, professionally prepared 2,961 items from the collection of prints and photographs for proper storage, and processed 1,130 pieces, 230 packets and 116 boxes of archaeological material. External professionals restored 88 collection items which required more complex or specialized treatment.
