The exhibition is devoted to the Royal Game Preserve (Stromovka), a significant grassed area on the map of Prague. The 16th and early 17th centuries mark the most famous era of this aristocratic hunting ground. In the 19th century, it became an area for entertainment of the Prague citizens. The current name has been derived from the part that was used as a tree nursery – ‘Baumgarten’ in German which corresponds to the Czech name ‘Stromovka’. In 1804, the modern history of the Royal Game Preserve began in the form of an English park with horticultural areas open to public.
