The Stone Bridge in Prague / The History of Judith and Charles Bridges in Prague
Pavla Státniková, Ondřej Šefců, Zdeněk Dragoun
The City of Prague Museum, 2013
Subtitled as The History of Judith and Charles Bridges in Pictures, the book presents the most complete collection of the surviving depictions of the bridge. Being more or less significant, hypothetical, and disputable, all the pictures are rather noteworthy, not only in general but also in detail. This selected “gallery” of pictures of Prague and its stone bridge gives evidence about the town history, the ways of actual depiction of reality, graphic and painting technologies, and the taste of our ancestors. In fact, this pictorial testimony can be viewed as a bridge that connects past and present.
