On 12 May 2018, the City of Prague Museum celebrated the 135th anniversary of its public opening. Originally, there was a small exhibition installed in four rooms of the former café pavilion located in the municipal park at Poříčí in Prague. It included the sketches of the Palacký Bridge decoration by Myslbek and Šimek as well as a cast of the Late Romanesque relief of Jesus Christ astride a donkey from the tympanum of the portal of the Church of Saint John at Na Zábradlí. Furthermore, there were documents, engravings of Prague, and old blacksmith’s and locksmith’s artefacts on display.

Commemorating its 135th anniversary, the City of Prague Museum will offer free admission on 18 May 2018, the International Museum Day, to the following venues: the museum’s main building Na Poříčí, the House at the Golden Ring, the Podskalí Customs House at Výtoň, Ctěnice Chateau, and the New Mill Water Tower.
