In June 2017, our colleagues from The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo visited Prague. The working visit was grounded in the cooperation of the City of Prague Museum and the Norwegian counterparts which is supported by the bilateral grant from the Fund for Bilateral Cooperation at programme level of Financial Mechanisms of EEA and Norway Grants. It was connected with the study trip of The City of Prague Museum employees in Oslo. where they presented a lecture.
Our colleagues from the National Museum – Architecture in Oslo, Norway, spent three days in Prague taking part in the rich bilateral programme ‘Museum Exhibitions in Historical Interiors’. Supported by the bilateral grant, the cooperation follows the project ‘The Reconstruction of the Historic New Mill Water Tower and its Opening to the Public – Stage 1’ (the tower opened to the public in April 2017) which was implemented especially owing to the EEA and Norway Grants, programme CZ06 – Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Art.

The ground floor of our museum is now wheelchair accessible and our personnel was trained, so that they are able to communicate professionally with patients with disabilities and also seniors. They will be able to assess the building accessibility layout and equipment as well.

The certificate is provided by Czech Red Cross office, who enlisted our museum as another Human friendly place with a safe access for people with disadvantaged.

The entrance is from back door from Na Poříčí 52 Street across from the main bus station Florenc.

Beginning August 19, 2015, visitors can rent these audio guides at the following City of Prague Museum locations: the Old Town Bridge Tower and the Lesser Town Bridge Tower.

The rental fee is CZK 100 and a refundable deposit of CZK 500 is required.

The audio tour lasts about 1,5 hours and is available in Czech, English, German, French, and Italian.

The numbers correspond to the locations of the statues and the two bridge towers on the map, allowing the visitors to stop whenever they wish and listen to the interesting history of the selected sight. Compared to the “real” tour guide, visitors can listen only to what they find interesting and in their own pace!
